Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my candle tunnelling?

Tunnelling often happens when the first burn is too short and the wax does not melt close to the edges of the container. Allowing the wax to reach near the edges on the first burn helps create an even melt pool and reduces tunnelling.

Why should I trim my candle wick?

Trimming your wick to around 5 mm before each burn helps promote a steadier flame, reduces smoking and soot, and can help your candle burn more evenly.

The Art of Candle Care

A little care makes every moment more beautiful.

The First Burn

Allow the melted wax to reach close to the edges of the container during the first burn, without exceeding the maximum burn time stated on the candle's safety label. This helps reduce tunnelling and encourages an even burn.

Trim Your Wick

Always trim your wick to 5mm before every burn. This ensures a clean, steady flame and prevents soot from forming on the glass.

Burn Safely

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from curtains, drafts, children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Know When to Extinguish

Follow the maximum burn duration printed on your candle's safety label. Never continue burning a candle when approximately 10 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar, or when the product label instructs you to stop sooner.

Keep Your Wax Clean

Keep the wax free from dust, wick trimmings, matches and other debris. Never add essential oils, fragrance oils or other materials to a burning candle.

Extinguish With Care

Use a suitable candle snuffer where possible. Never use water to extinguish a candle. Allow the wax and container to cool completely before touching, moving or replacing the lid.

Store Your Candles Properly

Store candles upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to help preserve their appearance and fragrance.

Reusing Your Candle Jar

Once the candle has been completely used and the container has cooled, clean the jar carefully if it is suitable for reuse. Do not reuse damaged or cracked containers. Avoid using repurposed candle jars for food or drinks.
